Chapter one
Vanessa did Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A Level at Greenhill Academy, then went on to study Accounting and Finance at Uganda Martyrs University. She graduated in October 2025.
Somewhere in those years she worked out that most people aren't bad with money or taxes. Nobody ever explained either one to them in words they could actually use.
If you understand where your money goes, nobody can confuse you about it.
Chapter two
While still at university she stepped into youth and climate work, and quickly became the person trusted with the money. As Finance Lead at EcoErudites Uganda she managed a $10,000 biogas project budget, helped bring in a $7,000 grant, and kept the donor reports and financial statements clean.
At Marafiki Green Youth Initiative she started Girls for Girls, won a $2,000 grant from the Feminist Fund to fund it, and trained 30 young women to turn textile waste into products and make their own liquid soap.
Every shilling has a story. My job is to make sure it's an honest one.
Chapter three
With a tax certificate in hand and her CPA well under way (Level 2 now), Vanessa took what she knew to TikTok and Instagram. Short, clear videos on Ugandan tax, in plain English, for people who've been scared of URA for too long.
Today she helps individuals and small businesses get registered, file on time, and stop guessing.
Tax isn't hard. It's just been explained badly.

Launches Girls for Girls, volunteers with the UN Office for Partnerships, joins Global Incubation Week, and becomes Finance Lead at EcoErudites.
Accounting and Finance degree conferred in October.
